Susan Ross

Susan manages the Middle School computer lab and teaches an introductory computer class to sixth graders. She specializes in providing assistance to all school staff by helping them integrate technology into their curriculum. She often finds web resources for teachers and sometimes designs and implements technology integration lessons for them.

Mrs. Ross maintains and coordinates the use of four computer labs, two projection carts, the SmartBoard and digital cameras in our school. She is responsible for providing assistance to all staff using IGPro, our electronic grading program.

Mrs. Ross has created several multimedia programs that highlight our school activities. She developed our school web site and spends some of her creative time maintaining it, as well as the main district web site. She continues to update and expand these sites each year.

During the 2001 - 2002 school year Mrs. Ross participated in a new venture in technology. She was chosen to represent Cape May County in the Technology Mentoring and Modeling program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Education. Mrs. Ross spent some of her time at our local ETTC as she represented Cape May County in this program.

Since her participation in the Technology Mentoring and Modeling program, Mrs. Ross often presents workshops at the NJAET fall conference and the From My Classroom to Yours conference at Stockton in May. She enjoys sharing her expertise with other educators who are looking to infuse technology into their classrooms.

In 2004, Mrs. Ross submitted a proposal to the New Jersey Department of Education for a MATRIX grant. Our school was awarded this grant to improve math achievement through the infusion of technology for grades six, seven and eight. Mrs. Ross is the project director who coordinates all activities relating to this grant. To learn more about this grant, visit our school's MATRIX web site.

In February of 2007, Susan participated in the Google Teacher Academy in New York City. This academy was an intensive, one-day event which allowed Susan to get hands-on experience with Google's free products and other technologies, learn about innovative instructional strategies, and receive resources to share with colleagues, and immerse. Susan is now a Google Certified Teacher who shares what she learned with other K-12 educators in her local region.
